Supporting you to navigate the SEND journey with confidence

As a parent, you know your child better than anyone.

When something doesn't feel right, or you know your child needs more support than they are receiving, it can be overwhelming trying to understand what to do next. Meetings can feel intimidating, reports can be difficult to interpret, and the SEND system is often complex and confusing.

At NeuroSense Consultancy, I work alongside parents to help them feel informed, confident and empowered throughout their child's educational journey.

My aim is not to create conflict with schools, but to ensure that your child's needs are fully understood and that everyone is working together towards the best possible outcomes.

How I can help

I offer personalised support tailored to your family's needs, including:

  • Understanding your child's reports, assessments and professional recommendations.

  • Reviewing EHCPs, annual reviews and SEND paperwork.

  • Helping you prepare for school meetings and annual reviews.

  • Supporting you to communicate effectively with schools and professionals.

  • Explaining SEND processes and your child's educational rights in plain English.

  • Helping identify what reasonable adjustments or support may be appropriate.

  • Advising on sensory needs, autism, ADHD, anxiety and emotional regulation.

  • Supporting applications for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs).

  • Helping gather evidence from professionals and different settings.

  • Providing independent advice focused on your child's individual needs.

A collaborative approach

Having worked across mainstream schools, specialist provision, alternative provision, local authorities and alongside health professionals, I understand the challenges that schools face as well as the experiences of families.

My approach is always child-centred, practical and solution focused.

Where possible, I encourage positive relationships between families and schools, recognising that successful outcomes are usually achieved when everyone shares the same goal - helping the child to thrive.

However, I also understand that there are times when parents need someone to help them ask the right questions, interpret professional advice, or ensure their child's needs are not overlooked.

Why choose NeuroSense Consultancy?

My background combines extensive experience in education with postgraduate study in psychology and specialist knowledge of neurodiversity, sensory processing and trauma-informed practice.

This means I don't simply look at paperwork - I look at the whole child.

I consider how their sensory profile, communication, emotional wellbeing, anxiety, learning and environment interact, helping families understand not only what support is needed, but why.

Whether your child is at the beginning of their SEND journey or already has an EHCP, I can provide clear, honest guidance to help you move forward with confidence.

Every child deserves to be understood

Behind every report, meeting and assessment is a child who deserves to feel safe, understood and able to reach their potential.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start, or simply need someone to guide you through the process, I'd be happy to help.
