What we offer
Nature‑based sessions that build confidence, connection, and wellbeing
Neurosense Wild Learning offers Forest School and outdoor learning sessions designed to help children feel safe, regulated, and connected through meaningful experiences in nature. These sessions run after school and during the school holidays, providing a nurturing space for children to explore, play, learn, and grow at their own pace.
Our approach is sensory‑rich, child‑led, and grounded in trauma‑informed, neurodiversity‑affirming practice. Every session is built around curiosity, creativity, and the belief that children thrive when they feel understood, valued, and free to be themselves.
Afterschool Forest School Sessions
A calm, grounding end to the school day. Children can:
-
unwind after busy classrooms
-
explore nature through play
-
build confidence and independence
-
develop social communication in a low‑pressure environment
-
enjoy sensory experiences that support regulation
These sessions are ideal for children who need movement, fresh air, and relational connection after school.
Holiday Forest School & Outdoor Learning
Longer, immersive sessions during school holidays, offering:
-
fire lighting and outdoor cooking
-
tool use (whittling, sawing, safe tool handling)
-
shelter building
-
nature crafts and creative projects
-
team challenges and problem‑solving
-
mindfulness and sensory exploration
-
child‑led play and discovery
Holiday sessions give children time to slow down, explore freely, and build deeper confidence in themselves and the natural world.

🌳 Who These Sessions Are For
Our Forest School and outdoor learning sessions are perfect for:
-
neurodivergent children (ASD, ADHD, PDA profiles)
-
children who benefit from sensory‑rich environments
-
children who struggle with busy, high‑demand settings
-
children who need support with confidence, resilience, or social communication
-
children who love nature, movement, and hands‑on learning
-
children who simply need a calm, nurturing space to be themselves
No previous outdoor experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to explore.
🍃 Why Forest School Works
Forest School supports children in ways that traditional settings often can’t. It helps them:
-
regulate through movement, fresh air, and sensory input
-
build resilience and problem‑solving skills
-
develop social communication naturally through shared tasks
-
grow confidence through achievable challenges
-
experience success in a non‑pressured environment
-
connect with nature, themselves, and others
For many children, outdoor learning is where they feel most grounded, capable, and understood.
🔥 What Sessions Look Like
Each session is a blend of:
-
child‑led exploration
-
guided activities (fire, tools, crafts, nature challenges)
-
sensory‑rich experiences
-
quiet spaces for regulation
-
opportunities for teamwork and connection
Whilst we will often have a planned activity or focus to the session, children are encouraged to follow their interests, take supported risks, and develop independence in a safe, nurturing environment.
